ECFP brings home two awards at SCI Formulation Forum 6th Annual Event

Tiffany Wood received the runner-up award for the Formulation Science Award and David Crosby was the winner of the Best Poster Prize!

31 January 2025

The annual scientific conference organised by the SCI Formulation Forum committee brings together industrialists, academics and students interested in the field of formulation science. During the 2-day event, the trends for shaping the future of formulation are highlighted as well as challenges in the design, testing and characterisation of formulations from early-stage research to market.

The Formulation Science Award

This award acknowledges leading work where formulation innovation has delivered new solutions that lead and inspire the formulation community. Tiffany Wood, inventor of DAINTech, delivered a 5 minute pitch about the patented technology at the event and picked up the runner-up prize. The award was presented to Tiffany by Malcolm Faers, Chair of the Formulation Forum. The winner was Bindhu Gururajan from Novartis for “Application of scientific modelling approach for formulation and process science for anti cancer drug product development”.

The Best Poster Prize

David Crosby presented a poster on his work on understanding the functionality of a commercial microgel. In his poster and one-minute flash presentation, David explained how he combined the data from cryo SEM, surface tension and rheological measurements to elucidate the bulk and interfacial properties. From this, we can then understand its functionality such as flow and emulsification properties of the microgel in solution.
