Professor & Vice-chair of the Board

Alongside his role as Professor of Computational Science at the University of Edinburgh, Arthur is Chairman of the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) and Vice-chair of the ECFP board. He co-founded EPCC and was Director from 1995 to 2010, transforming its technology transfer approach into a concerted programme linking academia, industry, and computing infrastructure which resulted in EPCC becoming one of the top centres for computational science in Europe. Arthur’s research interests include computational techniques, computational science and astronomy.
