ECFP @ Midlothian Science Festival

Monday, October 9, 2017 to Wednesday, October 18, 2017
Pentland Plans and IKEA

After a successful session about the Physics of Afternoon Tea (the 9th October), where our reserachears Keith Bromley and Marion Roullet introduced enthusiastic audience members to the physics behind dairy products, scones, jams and tea, we'll be back at the Cafe at Pentland Plants Garden Centre the 16th, showing how microscopic structures of chocolate affect its taste and look. We'll end our contributions to the fantastic Midlothian Science Festival by an activity for children, "Soft Matter Kingdom", in IKEA (Straiton) the 18th from 3 to 5pm. Through a medieval themed physics workshop, we'll introduce the kids to the basics of soft matter physics: what is solid? What is liquid? What is "in-between", and what can we do with it?
