National Museum of Scotland, Chambers Street, Edinburgh

ECFP was proud to present four workshops on Smart Soft Stuff at the Edinburgh International Science Festival at the National Museum of Scotland.  Dr John Royer explained the flow behaviour of particulate matter like colloids and sand, Dr Marieke Schor explained the changes happening when making 'slime', Dr Elena Blanco explained the science of foams while kids expanded marsh mallows and froth in a vacuum and Dr Alys Jepson explained liquid crystal science using pasta demonstrations and thermochromic sheets.  The event was coordinated by the Ogden-ECFP Outreach Officer, Dr JC Denis. For a full description of this very succesful event, please look at this page.
